  <abstract>The result of over 15 years of investigation on the subject with over 250 masks, and related costumes from Central America. The exhibition places the masks, in historical, geographic, environmental and social context. The book is the outcome of an exhaustive research by anthropologists Vania Solano Laclé, Johnny Cartín Quesada and Alejandro Tosatti who compiled a large amount of publications, photographic material, oral testimonies . They studied the collection of more than 200 masks and complementary objects from multiple regions of Central America.</abstract>
